Timeless

Continuing on with my Final Major Project, I am still testing with Large Format.  Also trying to do mock shoots, but finding very difficult as I will be using different subjects for the final.  I have taken some proper colour negative shots and am still waiting for the outcome.  Thank you to my friends Amanda and Nikoo for being patient with me, and thanks to Marshall for coming over to help me with some styling.  Looks like I'll be doing most of the styling myself, so it was great to play around with colours, layers and jewelry.  Within each shot there is an object that has significance towards my sister and I, this is what I want to portray in the final out come...more to come..

Family Affair pt. 2

I finally was able to scan and work on some of these tests.  I had previously posted polaroids of my mother and father inside their interior spaces.  I have decided that I am going to continue on with this project for my FMP and focus on the relationship between my parents inside their separate spheres.  Through this, the styling/objects will reflect on my sister and I, in a sense, represent our absence, followed by the theme 'displacement'.......oh boy, we'll see how it turns out!  Going back to Canada very soon!

it's a family affair

As I've been pondering on what to do for my final year project and I stumbled upon some old family photographs.  Placing my project around the theme of 'displacement' within my immediate family, I decided that I wanted to shoot my mother and my father inside their private sphere and how they transform when photographed by their daughter as well as put in a setting where they might want to displace themselves.  It's a very personal and psychological process, so I am still confused as to wether or not it will be right.

A New

It is 2011, the start a new year. I am so grateful for 2010 but at the same time ready for it to be over.  I cannot believe where I have ended up over the past years and It's all because of my beautiful friends, family and partner.  I am ready to embrace this new year and set aside my fears from 2010.  I hope the people who read this will do the same.
